Painter and cook. This now seems to me the most fitting description of my work. Keeping everything in motion and always looking ahead, without shying away from the consequences of certain actions. A narrow path between the overwhelming and what truly resonates with me.

Over my fifteen years as an artist, I have come to realize that I feel more like a storyteller than a painter. In this, I draw upon film and even cooking as languages of narration that have been given to me.

Painting remains my primary driving force. It is not a desire nor an urge. It is a necessity of my being, something one cannot and does not wish to escape. I understand my paintings as a cryptic diary. The texts on them are neither German nor English. They are a direct translation of how I think and how I feel. A language that belongs only to me, yet is meant for everyone.
